I recently decided to start running again and completely overdid the distance. Undeterred and determined to continue, I kept running until I was limping due to my calf being so tight. Since I had carried on too long, the pain had spread into my glute as well.
I went to see Christine who suggested dry needling to release the tight muscles. The almost immediate release is more than worth the temporary pain. After two sessions I was back running 13 miles virtually pain free. I would highly recommend acupuncture and would definitely do it again. These pins are nothing short of a miracle!

Clinic information/history
A Step Ahead Physiotherapy opened its doors in April of 2010, under the ownership of Christine Gibbs. There is a gym area with mats for floor work, exercise balls, foam rollers and a rebounder; cardio area consisting of a stationary cycle, treadmill, and video recorder for gait analysis; and 3 treatment areas.
The physiotherapy clinic is conveniently located in Governors Square with ample parking and is handicapped accessible.
We continually update our physiotherapy programs and are constantly striving for a high standard of patient care. Our physio staff attend seminars and continuing education courses regularly. Each physiotherapist attends at least 2 advanced training seminars per year to keep up with the latest developments in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
We regularly conduct patient satisfaction surveys and use the results of these surveys to modify and improve our clinic procedures, physiotherapy programs, and clinical management.
Services and Treatments
Each of our physiotherapists are highly trained, each with at least 10 years of experience. We treat a wide variety of sports injuries, post surgical procedures, whiplash following car accidents, back and neck pain, and "unexplained" joint pain. Through manual therapy, massage, Active Release Techniques, acupuncture, Kinesio Tape, and other modalities, our goal is to get you fixed ASAP!
